MoMo Beijing #43 HTML5 Opportunities and Case Sharing 2011-07-26

The 43th “Mobile Monday Beijing” event organized by Orange Labs was successfully held in Beijing on July 25th, 2011. This event attracted around 120 developers and companies from China and abroad, many of which have shown great interests in the potential opportunities and bright future of the international mobile industry. However, many people have shown the concern of the actual booming of HTML5, as the eco-system is built on the adoption of this technology by developers.Thanks for all the guests and attendees, whose brilliant ideas and heat discussion made up the wonderful event and brought us great enlightenment.

Wei Zhong, Technical Audience Marketing of Microsoft (China) addressed the speech of IE 9 HTML5, which gave a vivid description on how to make IE 9 browser with the use of HTML5. Pity that Hu Kun, Senior Developer Advocate of Google, was absent due to sickness. Therefore, Dai Bin from Orange Labs helped state the Kick-Ass Game Programming with Google Web Toolkit on behalf of him. Meanwhile, Dai Bin also briefly introduced the HTML5 opportunities with Orange Labs Beijing. Professor Feijun from Media Lab, CAFA, demonstrated the iPad application of HTML5 by a well-made presentation with several demos, which deeply impressed the audience. Besides, He Huang, the CEO of Leiyoo, also gave a speech on the opportunities and challenges with HTML5 development, from the point of view of a developer. Though cases were illustrated from different perspectives, it finally reached an agreement, that is, HTML5 will definitely bring a number of chances in the mobile industry.
